Blogging has lead me to do some pretty cool things, meet some really cool people and connect with a whole other world I would otherwise have no idea about.
It has also done wonders for my self-confidence and body confidence. I’ve always considered myself to be a pretty confident person but when it came to taking photos of my daily outfits and plastering them all over the internet, it did take me a few months to get the hang of it and be fully comfortable.
We have a tradition in my friendship circle, at each of our Hen’s days I make the blushing bride a headpiece to wear on the day. It started off as an alternative many years ago to one of those cheap and tacky tiara’s. (Although I must admit, I am quite partial to a bit of tiara action from time to time) It is now a firm tradition and we all refer to them as our Yaya sisterhood headpieces…. love that movie.
Over the years I have made many different styles, some on headbands complete with feathers and flowers, some with diamanté or pearl accents and some with a bit of both.
A few weeks ago I had my 1 year official MS diagnosis anniversary. Such an anniversary is not one to be particularly celebrated so I let the day go by with not so much as a thought.
That is pretty much my MS strategy in a nutshell, live each and every day without giving it a second thought. Of course it does creep in occasionally, and that’s totally ok, but it doesn’t get me down, I won’t let it.
It’s no secret to anyone who knows me that I am a fake tan addict. I’m not even ashamed I love it.
My lily white/ freckled skin has a very strict no tanning naturally policy and instead opts for a more let’s stay sun burnt and red for 3 weeks and then peel scenario.
Actually that’s a lie, I do tan, just in spots (otherwise known as freckles) and not in the cute few sprinkled across the nose business either, I’m talking hard core freckling. Like if freckling was an Olympic sport I would kick arse every time and wipe the floor with my opponents…. What can I say, its a gift.
I was chatting to a friend the other day who was looking to expand her dating horizons, she was toying with the idea whether or not to get Tinder. She decided to download the app and start chatting but when it came time to actually meet some of these people she refused to go. (& no before you ask it wasn’t me lol)
Not because she wasn’t interested but because meeting people online is weird right? Its desperate and only for single losers with no actual prospects.
Ah no, not even close. It’s for people who are no longer interested in going to Red Square every Saturday night, for people who are looking to meet a new circle of people or friends or yes, occasionally people who are just looking to hook up.
Do you ever go through phases where you are absolutely loving something so you thrash it to an almost certain death?
I do. In fact sometimes this love can be borderline obsessive, like the month that I watched Dumb & Dumber every night so I could fall asleep. (Just kidding……… It was actually 2 months)
That’s just who I am, if I love something I want it all day everyday… that probably explains a lot about my highly addictive personality. Luckily for me, these habits are not all that harmful, in fact I find them quite delightful.
I do love hearing about new things, shops or experiences so please feel free to share in the comments below somethings that are currently floating your boat!
Recently I was invited by the team at Browz & Beauty in Westfield Marion shopping centre to come in and try a beauty treatment of my choice. After looking over their extensive ‘menu’ I immediately knew what I wanted to have done… Eyelash extensions!
I’ve always wanted to try out eye lash extensions and this was a perfect opportunity. I made sure that having these falsies would not do any damage to my natural lashes if I decided not to have them refilled after they had fallen out, I was assured no, they are perfectly safe and proceeded to Marion and treated by the lovely Jade, the head beautician at Browz and Beauty.
There is a beauty treatment done in Bali that has caught my eye for a while now…. Ok maybe not caught my eye but whenever I saw in on the ‘menu’ I will admit I was intrigued as to what it was and why someone would do that…
Yes, im talking about the V-Steam…. As in Vajayjay steam…. As in steaming your vagina.
I have been to Bali a few times now and definitely have my favourite things that I absolutely must do, of course this list is growing all the time but here’s what I have so far… Im not really a Monkey Park or Waterbom Park kind of gal so here you will find all Caitlin approved activities that I try to squeeze in between the Mojitos each and every time!
In case I haven’t made it very clear in the lead up and past week, I have just come back from 7 days in beautiful Bali.
I just adore Bali, I love the busy yet somehow laid back vibe, the shopping, the constant beep beep from every passing car, cab and scooter, the sunshine, the culture and of course the fact that cocktail hour is basically whenever you feel like it.
This trip makes my 4th visit to Bali so of course that now makes me an expert. I have picked up some tips and tricks along the way that I think may just come in handy for you all.
