Discovering Lush Handmade Cosmetics

A few weeks back I was invited to attend the Bloggers United Birthday Bash held at Lush Marion.

It was an evening of games, canapes, chatting to other bloggers and of course learning about some of the fab products at Lush.

Now I’ll be honest, I had been into Lush before but aside from the occasional bath bomb I hadn’t really considered looking into any of the other products sold in store.

Top 5 Nude Lipsticks under $20

Someone made a comment to me the other day about how I don’t wear a lot of makeup and it was lovely to see…. I think I nearly fell on the floor laughing.

For you see dear ones, I do indeed wear a tonne of makeup, I’m not ashamed, I love the stuff. In fact my daily routine is probably what most people would do when they head out of a night time… True story.

It may sound like a lot of work but truthfully once you have your routine down it takes no time at all, Im like the flash, its done in a jiffy… and if im running late? I just utilise my travel time wisely, I’ve been known to do the old car/ traffic light application many times.

My favourite body moisturisers for Autumn/ Winter skin

I don’t know about the weather where you live but here in Adelaide Autumn has well and truly started, I for one couldn’t be happier. I love the fashion around this time of year, the colours, the layers, the ankle boots….

What I don’t like is what the colder dry air in Autumn/ Winter does to my skin. The air dehydrates it making it dry, rough and scaly…. Ewww. Now add a heater to the mix and my skin is really hating life.

Im pretty good at the body moisturiser upkeep, I have naturally very dry skin as it is and as an avid fake tanner it’s pretty much a necessity to do it daily.

Fake Tan Review | Vani-T

Anyone who knows me is very well aware of my addiction to fake tan. I love it it’s just my thing.

Even during the middle of winter I use a gradual tanning lotion at the very least. Naturally my skin is pretty much translucent with no ability to tan with sunlight alone, as I prefer a nice bronzed glow, my only option is to fake it.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. I’m the gal on the beachside holiday who right before bed can be found reapplying fake tan like a crazy lady in order to keep up with everyone else who seems to bronzed on just a little sunlight. Everyone else is getting darker with the sun and I am also getting darker, just with a little assistance.

Beauty Bundle Give Away Time!!!

Here it is folks, as promised, todays post is all about my blogs first giveaway!

If you read my post on Wednesday you would have already heard the goss, last weekend I attended my very first bloggers conference held by Bloggers United AU.

It was a day to mingle with other Adelaide beauty bloggers and be introduced to some great South Australian and Australian brands and businesses doing us proud for the beauty industry.

I had such a great day and came away with information over load that I will be sharing with you all over the coming weeks.

Simple ways to reduce eye bags

I’ve been lucky enough to have good skin for the majority of my life, aside from a few pimples here and there, I never really went through the ache phase. I’m fairly certain this is because of my skin borders on the dry side and excess oil has never been something that I had to worry about.

I started wearing make up quite young and it didn’t take me long to realise that this make up needed to be removed somehow. As a result I started a skin care regime not long after. It may have been Oil of Ulan (that’s before the big name change to Olay) but hey, it was something.

Get your tan on | Bondi Sands

A few years back, Santa gave me the best present I could have ever asked for.

A professional spray tanning machine.

Like the ones they have in the salons, professional.

Naturally I am lily white, actually I think clear is a more accurate description, but I prefer to be tanned. There is no way my skin is going to do this naturally so I have no choice but to fake it. There’s also the whole skin cancer thing too…

How to get Healthier Nails | Nail Tales

Confession time, for the past 6 months I have been a shellac addict. I love it, I love everything about it. I love how it lasts for up to 2 weeks and still looks shiny and new without chipping or losing its charm. It means I can go and get them done and then not have to think about it again for another fortnight, lazy girl win!

The downside of this is that it also has the nasty side effect of ruining your nails, or at least mine anyway. Lazy girl loose…

I have very thin nails as it is, add all the filing and soaking in acetone that comes with shellac, means my nails currently hate life.

5 tips for applying foundation for freckles

Not that long ago, the thought of putting my makeup-less face on the internet would have had me convulsing silently in a dark corner, to be honest it still kind of does. But if I’m going to blog about Beauty products I need to get over it, even if it does slightly look like Lindsay Lohan’s mug shot circa 2007. Anyway here goes…. eek.

Ok now that that is out of the way…

Today I’m talking about foundation, particularly for those of us who have freckles.
