Happy New Year everyone!

Hopefully your Christmas and New Year was full of relaxation and fun.

In case you hadn’t noticed I took a mini impromptu blog break over the Christmas and New Year period, I had planned to continue blogging all the way through but something happened on my first day of holidays… I started to forget what day it was. That would have to be my favourite thing about Holidays, you have little to no need for dates, times or commitments. You just do what you want, when you want (kinda, sorta, maybe)

My holidays saw a busy yet relaxing Christmas spent with my family, New Year’s celebrating with friends, days lazing on the beach and a road trip with my leading ladies to Melbourne to visit some of our own and meet her precious new born baby.

After a full on year I needed to switch off and recharge. That’s exactly what I did, it was fantastic.

Now I’m back and ready to rock.

Twist of Cait started in November last year, currently I post on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week. So far this seems to work well as I also work a ‘real’ job and study part time… Busaaay doesn’t even cover it. I love it.

Blogging is new to me and I am still finding my feet. I am leaning towards more style, fashion and beauty posts because it’s what I am interested in and I like to think I’m good at.

I do occasionally add some more personal posts and will continue to do so if I feel like they are interesting and not delving too far into my personal life.

Since starting Twist of Cait I have been asked quite frequently why I blog. My answer is simple. I blog because I enjoy it, I blog because I like it, I blog because it gives me a creative outlet to do and say what I wish. I do it for me. It’s a hobby that I would like to grow into potentially something more, I don’t know what this looks like yet but I am happy to enjoy the ride while I adjust.

I post daily on the gram (Instagram) and Facebook. I am a social media freak and enjoy the instant interaction. So far most of the response has been positive and I hope it continues to be. Each day I choose to post an Everyday Style photo. In case you are not familiar with everyday style it is the brain child of Nikki from Styling You. You can read about it here.

Search the hash tag and you will see everyday woman posting their outfit photos, look a little deeper and you will see a wonderfully supportive community that has welcomed me with open arms, we are not in competition with each other, we are supporting each other.

My reasons for doing this are varied. It’s not because I think I’m a model, a social media celebrity or a fashion super star (not that there is anything wrong with those things). I do it because it inspires me, each day I try to put my clothes together in different ways to get the most out of my wardrobe. Each day I try to look my best because it generally makes me feel better. I also do it because of how much confidence it gives me. Before I started this blog there was no way in hell I would pose for a full length photo by myself, not without an object to hide behind at least. Now I do it daily.

This blog and outfit photos has given me so much more confidence in myself. It’s not easy to put yourself out there like that but with the support I have had from both my family, friends and strangers has made it just that much easier.

So there you go, there’s a little bit of back ground on Twist of Cait and why I do what I do. I look forward to continuing to grow in 2016 and hope you enjoy the ride.

Lastly I want to thank each and every one of you that comes here and reads every day, I am blown away that someone would find what I write interesting, little own a whole bunch of you.

So thank you, thank you for reading, commenting, sharing and most of all supporting.

2016 let’s do this….
