Wearing | The Big W Bargain

What’s this? A wearing post? I know I know, I’ve been MIA on the wearing post front of late.

Most of you will know that I have been going through a rough patch recently, its not something I have delved deep into on here but the truth is that Mr.Twist and I have decided to part ways. A mutual decision that results in us still being good friends. That’s all I’m going to say on it as it’s not just my story to tell, but I wish him well.

I didn’t mean for that last part to rhyme but here we are.

Back to the dress! Yes I know it’s another dress, it’s my wardrobe goal to include more pant/skirt separate options this season. When doing my seasonal wardrobe edit the other week I realized I have a serious shortage of tops to go with my bottoms.

I’m fussy with tops you see, they have to be the right cut and length made from the right fabrics. It’s not a lot to ask for is it? I do love a good shirt though, so maybe that’s the tactic to take.

If you’re a regular around these parts you will know my 9-5 is spent in an office, a casual office.

I can pretty much wear what I like as long as it is presentable and semi-professional, lines I try to push as often as I can.

Most of my wardrobe is dual purpose, meaning I can wear it to work or play. I know some like to keep the two wardrobes separate but I like to get as much wear out of my clothes as I can. Plus I think I look ridiculous in corporate attire, like I’m playing dress ups or something. I much prefer to buy casual clothes that’s for sure.

This beauty is Emerson by Big W, as soon as I saw it I knew we were going home together that night, we were made for each other.

‘Scuse my puppy Lilly, she likes to be where ever my feet are.

Emerson Printed Shirt Dress

It’s the perfect shirt dress/tunic with a slight gather under the bust, which for most of us is our smallest part.

Here I have rolled up the sleeves but left untouched they actually button up at the wrist, perfect for Autumn. Come Winter ill add tights and a leather jacket and I’ll be ready to rock.

The best part about this dress? Its $29…. Yeah I know, get on it kids!

Oh and before you go, one of my besties has started her new blog today! Meet Lauren from Celiac and the City. Her blog is about her adventures of living in New York and being gluten free! If you have a moment head on over and welcome her to the blogasphere.

Have you found any bargains lately? What gaps do you have in your wardrobe?
