So a blog huh. What’s that?

Well to be honest I’m not entirely sure yet, I’d like to say I have a long and thought out plan but no, for now it’s just me and my laptop.

Twist of Cait has been a long time coming, just ask my boyfriend, who for blog purposes will go by the name Mr Twist. At least once a day for the past few years I would somehow manage to turn any conversation back to me and how ‘I just really want to start a blog’.

It started 2 years ago when I literally stumbled across my future blog obsession.

I was mindlessly scrolling through the interwebs, as you do, and found myself on the She Shopped face book page. From there I discovered the online clothing store Harlow, it was through their social media pages that I noticed photos of a lady modelling their clothes, she was a fashion and style blogger called Melissa from Suger Coat it. (I really must thank her someday)

Commence the blog stalking.

From here it kind of snow balled, each day I discovered more and more blogs and bloggers that I wanted to follow, all sorts of blogs about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, parenting, (this doesn’t apply to me just yet but hey it was interesting), cooking and just plain funny.

Each morning I found myself picking up my phone and heading straight for the blog posts, I would read them, laugh, shop, try new recipes, I was hooked!

Before this I thought blogs were just for celebrities, you know the Kylie Jenner’s of the world, it didn’t take long to realise that these fabulous ladies who I stalked followed were just everyday woman, like me.

It looked like so much fun, I wanted to do it too. The seed was firmly planted and from there the desire grew pretty darn quickly.

I wasn’t sure what I would write about, after all I’m not a writer or an expert in any particular field for that matter, so I stalled.

I would build up the confidence to go for it, then I would stall.

The final push I needed came from a competition I entered and won from Success Undressed and Sonia Styling, it was for a two on one blogging and social media coaching session.

During the session Sonia and Tessa were so inspiring and motivating I knew I had to do it, I came home and again turned the conversation back to me and how I just really wanted to start a blog.

Mr Twist owns an IT hosting company and was able to help me with the technical side of things in no time at all. I know right, I’m very lucky!

So here I am, I’ve started.

I have no niche, no expertise and no clear direction, but I’ve started.

It may just be my Mum and Mr Twist out there reading it but hey I’ll take it.

I’ve started and I’m so darn excited!

Welcome to the blogging world. I too loved reading other peoples blogs before I launched my own & I still do. I found excuse after excuse not to start mine, but then I decided to just take the plunge & even though I’m still learning, I’m enjoying it too.
